Nailsea Singing Project is a new venture set up to promote singing in the community and is run by teacher Gill Atkinson.

The profile of singing in schools has been significantly heightened by the introduction of the:

Music Manifesto

and the

National Sing Up programme

Sing Up has become a household name in many schools where staff and pupils access it regularly to learn, perform or simply sing along to songs.

One of the aims of these two initiatives is to try to create a singing nation by the time of the 2012 Olympic Games!

Many adults express a wish to be able to join a singing group but either lack the confidence or cannot find a group to suit their needs. The NSP will hopefully create some opportunities not only for those who already enjoy singing, but also for those who say they only sing in the shower!!

At a later date there may be some singing opportunities for children/teenagers.

SINGING IS A GREAT WAY TO RELAX, EXPRESS YOURSELVES AND FEEL GOOD!!
